History of Department

 

  • B.Voc. in Retail Management has been designed as per the guidelines and objectives of UGC, New Delhi, NSDC, New Delhi, and NSQF to cater skill force to the travel and tourism industry.
  • B.Voc. course is a multiple program, that leads Diploma after the completion of the first year, an advanced diploma after the completion of two years, and a Degree in B.Voc after the successful completion of three years.
  • Department of B. Voc. (Retail Management) Established in the Academic Year 2018-19.

Objectives

 

 
  • To provide skills relating to Retail Management? profession and appropriate content of General Education.
  • To ensure that the students will get adequate knowledge and skills at each exit point of the program.
  • To provide flexibility to the students using pre-determined entry and multiple exit points as per the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) guidelines.
  • To enhance the employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements and are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
  • To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.

Highlights

Department of Retail Management created a web portal google.com/view/bgretail to communicate and send documents and academic notes to students, also brings information from diverse sources, like emails, online forums, and search engines, together in a uniform way. Portals provide a way for enterprises organizations and students to provide a consistent "look and feel" with access control and procedures for multiple applications such as job roles, departmental activities, and the information of different retail components such as Gandola, Display racks, etc.

  • Google Classroom facility is used by the faculty and students. Teaching-learning material and PowerPoint presentations are shared through Google Classroom.
  • Department of Retail Management in BaburaojiGholap College, Sangvi took the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Anudip Foundation for Social Welfare?, Aundh, Pune dated on 5th September 2018.
  • Department of Retail Management created a Common group bgcbvocrm@gmail.com on Gmail to communicate and send the documents to all faculty members.
  • Department of Retail Management also created a WhatsApp group B.Voc(Retail Management) for staff and students so that all the staff and students will share their information.
  • Collected the information of 73 students such as Academic, Email ID, Contact number, Adhar number, Category, Caste wise information of F.Y. B.Voc(Retail Management) and S.Y. B.Voc(Retail Management).
  • The retail Management department has given updated information to the students regarding job roles in retail management, and career opportunities in the retail sector.
  • The retail Management department has organized a seminar on Carrier Guidance in the retail sector through which students come to know their strengths and weaknesses and how they have to develop themselves to grab opportunities in the corporate sector.
  • Students were sent to a Job Fair at our college (B. G. College, Sangvi) for Mega Campus Drive.
  • Voc in Retail Management students have participated in various National Service Scheme (NSS) activities such as the Plantation Program, and Swatch Bharat Abhiyan Rakshabandhan Program.
  • Voc in Retail Management students participated in the Science Exhibition which was conducted at B.G. College, Sangvi, Pune-27.
  • Voc in Retail Management students participate in A day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) Laws which is conducted by the Department of Commerce in B.G. College, Sangvi, Pune-27.
  • Use of ICT in teaching-learning, Student presentation, Retail Lab components viva, and Project viva is taken by the department of retail management.
  • B.Voc in Retail Management students participated in the Interclass Sports Competition "Kabbadi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho" dated 24th January 2019.
  • B.Voc in Retail Management students participated in the Intercollegiate Sports Competition "Kho-Kho" which is held in Prof. R.M. College, Akrudi.
  • B.Voc in Retail Management taken 6 Industrial visits and one Study Tourin academic year 2018-19 and 2019-20.

ICT Learning

  • Faculty made Power point presentations on technical topics as per the syllabus is presented to the students at the end of every chapter for the students.
  • It helps learners for a better revision.
  • Google Classroomfacility is used by the faculty and students. Teaching-learning material, PowerPoint presentations are shared through google classroom.
  • E-Learningfacility provided to the students. We are provided various e-Books for self learning and better understanding.
