Welcome To Retail Management Department

History of Department

  • Voc. in ?Retail Management? has been designed as per the guidelines and objective of UGC, New Delhi, NSDC, New Delhi and NSQF to cater skill force to the travel and tourism industry.
  • Voc. course is multiple exist program, which leads Diploma after completion of first year, Advance Diploma after completion of two years and Degree in B.Voc after successful completion of three years.
  • Department of B. Voc. (Retail Management) Established in the Academic Year 2018-19.

Aim

  • The aim of retail management is creating and developing services and products that meet the specific needs of customers and offering these products at competitive, reasonable prices that will still yield profits.
  • The main aim of Retail Management is to provide the learner with an overview of the retail industry, concepts and processes and an opportunity to understand the areas of accountability for a Retail Manager.
  • The learner will also be able to determine a level ofinterest in pursuing a career in retail management.

Objectives

  • To provide skills relating to a ?Retail Management? profession and appropriate content of General Education.
  • To ensure that the students will get adequate knowledge and skills at each exit point of the programme.
  • To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-determined entry and multiple exit points as per the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) guidelines.
  • To enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements and are also expected to be equipped to become part of global workforce.
  • To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.

Highlights

  • Department of Retail Management created a web portal google.com/view/bgretail to communicate and send the documents and academic notes to students, also brings information from diverse sources, like emails, online forums and search engines, together in a uniform way. Portals provide a way for enterprises and organizations and students to provide a consistent "look and feel" with access control and procedures for multiple applications such as job role, departmental activities and the information of different retail components such as Gandola, Display racks etc.
  • Google Classroomfacility is used by the faculty and students. Teaching-learning material, PowerPoint presentations are shared through google classroom.
  • Department of Retail Management in BaburaojiGholap College, Sangvi taken the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ?Anudip Foundation for Social Welfare?, Aundh, Pune dated on 5th September 2018.
  • Department of Retail Management created a Common group ?bgcbvocrm@gmail.com? on Gmail to communicate and send the documents with all faculty members.
  • Department of Retail Management also created a WhatsApp group ?Voc(Retail Management)? for staff and students so that all the staff and students will share their information with each other.
  • Collected the information of 73 students such as Academic, Email ID, Contact number, Adhar number, Category wise, Caste wise information of F.Y. B.Voc(Retail Management) and S.Y. B.Voc(Retail Management).
  • Retail Management department has been given updated information to the students regarding job roles in retail management, career opportunity in retail sector.
  • Retail Management department has organized seminar on ?Carrier Guidance in retail sector? through which students come to know their strengths and weaknesses and how they have to develop themselves to grab the opportunities in the corporate sector.
  • Students were sent to Job Fair at our college (B. G. College, Sangvi) for Mega Campus Drive.
  • Voc in Retail Management students are participated in various National Service Scheme (NSS) activities such as ?Plantation Program ?, ?Swatch Bharat Abhiyan?, ?Rakshabandhan Program?.
  • Voc in Retail Management students are participated in Science Exhibition which is conducted in B.G. College, Sangvi, Pune-27.
  • Voc in Retail Management students are participated in One day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) Laws which is conducted by Department of Commerce in B.G. College, Sangvi, Pune-27.
  • Use of ICT in teaching-learning, Student presentation, Retail Lab components viva and Project viva is taken by department of retail management.
  • Voc in Retail Management students are participated in Interclass Sports Competition "Kabbadi, Vollyball, Kho-Kho" dated on 24th January 2019.
  • Voc in Retail Management students are participated in Intercollegiate Sports Competition "Kho-Kho" which is held in Prof. R.M. College, Akrudi .
  • Voc in Retail Management taken 6 Industrial visits and one Study Tourin academic year 2018-19 and 2019-20.

ICT Learning

  • Faculty made Power point presentations on technical topics as per the syllabus is presented to the students at the end of every chapter for the students.
  • It helps learners for a better revision.
  • Google Classroomfacility is used by the faculty and students. Teaching-learning material, PowerPoint presentations are shared through google classroom.
  • E-Learningfacility provided to the students. We are provided various e-Books for self learning and better understanding.
