History of Department
Department of Computer Application in P.D.E.A.'s Baburaoji Gholap college run course B.C.A. since 2006-07 and M.C.A. (Commerce) from 2009 to 2016. The nomenclature of this course has been changed to B.B.A.(C.A.) i.e. Bachelor of Business Administration (Computer Application) from 2015 -16
Aim
To create academically competent Professionals.
Objectives
- To bring awareness about computer application to students coming from various faculties.
- To encourage students to imbibe knowledge in management, Commerce and Computer.
- To build confidence among the students with latest technology.
Best Practices
- A well structured bridge course is being conducted every year for FYBBA(CA) students to bridge the gap between subjects studied at higher secondary level and the subjects they would be studying in graduation.
- Remedial coaching is given to the students (slow learners) to improve their performance.
- short term courses have been conducted for FY/SY/TYBBA(CA) students

- A guest lecture on " Career guidance in web technology" conducted on 17/1/2020.
- A guest lecture on " Side effects of junk food" conducted on 4/2/2020.
- A guest lecture on " ABC of computer psychology" conducted on 31/12/2021.
- Short term course on "Website development & web hosting" conducted for SY & TYBBA(CA) students from 17/5/2022 to 24/5/2022.
- Short term courses on "PC Hardware & network administration" for TYBBA(CA) , "Core Java with Selenium" for SYBBA(CA) and "Full stack web development" for FYBBA(CA) students conducted from 28/4/2023 to 7/5/2023.
- Bridge course conducted from 6/7/2023 to 22/7/2023 for FYBBA(CA) students.
- Teachers day celebrated on 5th September 2023 .
- A departmental competition "Blind typing" conducted on 5/2/2023 on account of "Gholap Saptah".
- A Workshop on "Career in Artificial Intelligence" organized on 7/2/2024.
- A guest lectrure has been conducted on topic "Career guidance after graduation" on 8/2/2024.
- Guest lecture of two days conducted on the topic "Spring and Hibernate" on 13/2/2024 & 14/2/2024.
Student Achievements
- Modern Shree 2019 body building show SYBBA ( CA ) student Mr. Rohit Patil participated held in Annasaheb Magar College, Hadapsar.
- Chinmay Bhave Participated in the Indian Cricket association, Deccan , Pune on 1st May 2019.
- Amol Sable SYBBA(CA) student participated in Republic Day Parade 2020 at New Delhi .
- In 2022-23, 7 students have participated in Avishkar and one among them got selected for university level.

- In 2023-24, 120 students have participated in an online state level inter college competition (Techno case- code battle) held by IICMR College, Nigadi, Pune. Among them, the following students have been selected for the final level. The final competition was on innovative project.
